Happy 80th Birthday!

I wanted to make a card for a friend's 80th birthday.  I struggle with ideas for men's cards, but saw this design in Papercraft Essentials magazine and thought it would be perfect.

I matted a 9cm square of white cardstock onto mustard Moondust cardstock, then onto dark blue Moondust cardstock.  I then fixed this onto the front of a white tent-fold card blank.  I cut four 4cm squares of co-ordinating Nancy Watt papers (which were a magazine freebie) and used my Woodware corner roucnder to round two corners of each square.   These were then glued to the card front.  I tied embroidery thread through a blue star button and used tacky glue to attach it to the card.  I printed a sentiment on white card and used foam tape to attach it to the card.

As I had more squares of paper, I made another birthday card.

I've passed Unit One!

I've had a message from assessor Jackie - I've been awarded a Pass Credit for Unit One!  This was for the Clematis Birthday Card, Wedding Easel Card and Jenigami Tortoise.   Thank you to everyone who has left feedback for me.

I'm now going to start working on Unit Three which is the cardmaking unit.

With Love From the Heart

I love these red Woodware peel-offs, so used them to make a simple anniversary card.

I attached the first heart directly onto a pearlescent white card blank.   The second heart was attached to a scrap of white card and cut out.   This was then attached to the card front with foam tape.  The sentiment was added to the top and bottom of the card.   The hearts were decorated with silver and diamond Stickles and white pearls.  To finish, I printed a greeting onto white pearlescent paper and attached it to the inside of the card.
